I collect 1:400 model aircraft and usually like to do a little research on the operational history of each model . I will try to update my collection blog on a semi-regular basis.

July 2013 is the 50th anniversary of the BAC 1-11 passenger aircraft. Detailed history can be found here.

Operational History:

Aircraft 030 was delivered to Mohawk Airways on 25th Jun 1965 and remained with the airline until 12th April 1972. The aircraft was sold to Allegheny Airlines who operated the aircraft until 28th Oct 1979. Registration then passed to US Air. The exact date of the final flight is unknown however the aircraft was in storage in Las Vegas for some time before being ferried to Bristol on 22nd Dec 1990. The aircraft was de-registered on 21st Feb 1991 when it was sold to Kebo Air (Nigeria) for spare parts.
